Oldcastle Glass*

marquardt+ was retained by Oldcastle Glass to help upgrade their brand impression through the creation and design of an innovative tradeshow exhibit to be premiered at the AIA Tradeshow in Los Angeles, California. The design team designed the exhibit as a “medieval church towering over the village”, recreating applications of the countries largest curtain wall manufacturer, in scale and providing scaled detail for architects and engineers to study and review first hand.

The exhibit has two levels and was engineered to meet seismic requirements of the first show location. In addition, the structure had to support tons of curtain wall glass and hardware systems. The result was a building mock up with all surfaces comprised of Oldcastle Glass – from stairs, to doorways, to curtain walls and inset windows. Sample displays, environmental graphics and a scaled glass tower from their LA International Airport work were implemented into the design.
