Merchandise Mart Lobby 2008*

marquardt+ has a long relationship with the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. We were asked to work with MMPI management to help strategize ways to energize and activate the Merchandise Mart building as a destination itself, versus just for the tenants leasing space. One of our ideas was a WiFi destination lounge, utilizing tenant products and materials to create a lounge space and WiFi meeting area in the main south lobby. The design team was responsible for all product selections, specifications, space planning, organization, procurement and coordination of installation. The design team provided design services for this space from 2006-2008, the last time it was truly renovated. The 2008 design provided a contemporary lounge and meeting area.
