The spiraling floor plan was developed to reflect the client’s desire for a modern home with a feeling of flowing, expansive space within a small footprint, while meeting the municipality requirements to maintain the “traditional” exterior massing and proportions of the original home, completely demolished. This spiral plan is expressed through standing seam zinc elements that “push” themselves out of the box form of the original massing.
